Staff of Zelzhin is a fantasy novel that centres on the life of Saterplax, a peasant living on the northern border of Illuria, which is known as the Waste. He lives with his brother Walven, his cousin Parry, his mother Annasel, his sister Serasala and his grandfather Ulthrax. War breaks out between Illuria and the dwarves of it’s northern neighbor Urlat, causing Saterplax, Walven and Parry to be conscripted into the army.
